Submit claim information
Fill out the claim form with your role, contact details, and any notes that help confirm you're authorized.
Locallya reviews your request
Editors may look at your business email, website, public phone, and other signals.
Ownership or authorization may be checked
We may request a short confirmation — by email, phone, or a public profile — before approving the claim.
Listing updates can be processed when eligible
Once approved, eligible updates may be applied. Some changes (legal name, ownership transfer) can take longer.

Can't find your business? Add it to Locallya — it's free, and once it's listed you can claim it through the same form.
How we check ownership
Locallya may request information that helps confirm you are authorized to manage the listing. The exact check depends on the business and what's available.
Signals we may look at:
- Business email domain. An email like
name@your-business.comis the strongest signal. - Phone confirmation. We may call or text the public business number listed on your site.
- Website confirmation. Adding a small confirmation snippet to the business website.
- Official document. A registration certificate or tax document (sensitive parts can be redacted).
- Social profile. An owner-controlled profile on a recognized platform.
- Manual review. An editor may compare information against publicly available sources.
What we don't do. We don't ask for payment to verify a claim. We don't ask for full bank details, full ID document numbers, or passwords. If something feels off, please contact us.
Verification is a judgement, not a guarantee. Some claims may take longer; others may be approved quickly.

Following these guidelines makes review faster and keeps the directory trustworthy.
Submit accurate information
Use your real name, role, and contact details. Inaccurate claims slow everyone down.
Use a business email when possible
A domain email matching your business website is the strongest signal of ownership.
Do not claim a business you do not represent
Claiming a competitor or an unrelated business is not allowed and may affect future claims from your account.
Avoid duplicate claims
If you've already submitted a claim, wait for review before submitting another for the same listing.
Keep customer-facing information current
Once approved, please keep hours, address, menu, and services updated. Stale info is the most common complaint we receive.
If multiple owners exist
Coordinate internally — only one claim is needed per listing. Other owners can be added later.
Claim — frequently asked
Owners, managers, employees, and authorized agencies acting on behalf of the business. The claim form has a role dropdown for each.
The business name, city, and category, plus your name, role, business email, and a short reason for the claim. A listing URL is helpful but not required.
It depends on the case. Many claims are reviewed within a few working days; complex cases (competing claims, missing signals, ownership changes) take longer.
Yes. Choose "Agency / representative" as your role and include a short note about who you represent. We may follow up with the business directly.
